Traditional glass production was characterized with high energy consumption, low efficiency, small scale and poor revenue. Some factories in Chongqing City, Shanxi Province, and Hebei Province began to use electric melting furnace to produce manual glass ware at 1980~90’s, then it was applied to produce all kinds of glass, especially in high requirement glass production like optic glass, electric lighting glass and crystal glass etc. The scale is becoming larger and larger.

As to soda lime, because of standard operatingrules, good equipments and well-trained operators, its quality is stable and getting better.
